This superb Poole Pottery
art deco shape 879 wall vase is from a range that was probably designed by John
Adams in the late 1930’s – it is decorated in the traditional PC pattern and
has the factory backstamp in use from 1952 to 1955 - the paintress mark looks
to be that of Jean Baker (later Jean Harrison) who was with the pottery from
1951 to 1954, so it was made in the period 1952 to 1954
It is 6.5" (16cm)
high, 4.5” (11cm) wide and 1.5" (3.5cm) deep at the rim
The vase has been in use
for many years so has the kind of water marks etc you would expect on the
inside and also has repaired crack at the top of the back as shown in the
pictures - otherwise it is in good condition with no chips, crazing or
restoration
A seldom seen shape in a
pretty design that would be worth a lot more without the crack, it will make a good
addition to your collection
