The Storm Glass is a weather forecasting instrument used by sailors since the early 18th century, the basic original concept was refined by Admiral Fitzroy, who commanded HMS Beagle during Charles Darwin's expedition of 1834-1836

Overall it is 11.5" (29cm) high and the wooden base is 3" (7.5cm) square
