ROYAL HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY CHRYSANTHEMUM GARDENING SET

  • £89.99

This fine quality gardening set is from Burgon & Ball's Royal Horticultural Society Collection

The striking illustration of Chrysanthemum Karashishi by the Japanese artist Keikwa Hasegawa dates from 1891 and is taken from the Royal Horticultural Society's Lindley Library

The set comprises of a pair of ladies gardening gloves, a kneeling pad, a pair of secateurs, a trowel and a fork

The gloves are soft, durable and machine washable - the cuffs are elasticated, decorated parts are made with a stretch fabric, the silvery coloured fabric between the fingers has even more flexibility for greater comfort and the palms have padding for extra protection, particularly designed to soften the impact of working with secateurs or trowels etc – with designs suitable for the lady gardener, they are quite stretchy and described as “one size fits all” – that will be right for the ladies but they are not big enough for men

The kneeling pad has a deep core of shock absorbing EVA foam, a luxurious layer or ultra-cushioning memory foam, an outer layer of waterproof, durable neoprene with a quick-dry, wipe clean nylon cover and is a good size, 20" (51cm) long, 12" (30cm) wide and 2" (5cm) thick – it is equally useable when gardening, decorating or at any time you need to kneel or sit on a hard surface for any length of time

The secateurs have been engineered to the highest quality standards, the hardened & tempered high-carbon steel blade will slice through stems up to one inch (25mm) diameter – additional features include a sap groove, wire cutting notch and super-grip coatings over light alloy handles

The trowel & fork have been engineered to the highest quality standards, both have good quality hardwood handles and the tool heads are formed from hardened & tempered stainless steel, delivering superior strength and durability as well as years of rust resistance

The trowel features an engraved quote by Gertrude Jeckyll, one of the most influential gardeners of all time

“The love of gardening is a seed once sewn, that never dies”

Just perfect for your favourite gardener, they are brand new and will make a lovely gift
