POOLE POTTERY 1950's RD PATTERN 998 SHAPE CHEESE DISH This lovely 998 shape cheese dish
is decorated in the pretty RD pattern. I believe it was made in
the early 1950's. This shape was introduced in the 1930's and
was in production for many years and the factory marks include
the impressed Poole stamp in constant use from 1930. The paintress
mark on the base is that of Margaret West who worked at Poole
from 1951 to 1954. The lid was decorated by someone else but I

POOLE POTTERY XA PATTERN LARGE PEANUT SHAPED LAMP BASE This wonderful large sized Poole peanut shape lamp base is decorated in a pattern I haven't seen before The factory marks include X/XA which would indicate it is in the XA pattern and was probably decorated by Gwen Haskins, head paintress for many years and with the pottery from 1938 to 1977 It is a nice big hand thrown grey bodied piece, 15" (38cm) high to the top of the light fitting and 5.25" (13cm) diameter at the widest point There is a minor fault with the decoration, the black paint of one of the 6 shaped parts of the pattern is smudged a bit as shown in my third picture and it needs to be fitted with a new flex but otherwise it is in excellent undamaged condition with no chips, cracks or crazing Prices include P&P Choose your delivery area from the list below before you add to cart |
